Investors in people is an award which recognises the organisation’s commitment to it’s staff’s training and development, and the importance of recognising staff needs and their contribution.
Bushbury Hill EMB was recognised as an Investor in People in year 2000, and has had successful reviews since then. The IIP standard is recognised nationally and internationally as a measure of good practice and is therefore held in very high regard both by employers, fellow businesses and employees. IIP is a flexible scheme which can be adjusted to fit most types of business from those with 2 employees to large corporations and it benefits businesses by encouraging better communication, helping to identify training and development needs therefore ensuring a more efficient working environment and more successful business.
Assessments and reviews are carried out every 3 years (more frequently if requested) to ensure that once a company gains their IIP status they continue to meet the requirements. Our next review is due in October 2009. This will be carried out by the West Midlands Quality Centre (WMQC). A trained Assessor will check if we’ve maintained the standards. We are confident that we still invest in our employees and shall retain the recognition.
**UPDATE - Following our Investors In People Review in October 2009 Bushbury Hill EMB were awarded the Bronze standard. This means that BHEMB not only continues to meet the requirements of the Investors In People Standard but met an additional 49 requirements. The staff and board team are very proud of this achievement and look forward to many more successful reviews in the future.
